Cellino’s style is “no way to run a football club”

Managerial sackings in 2014/5 reached their highest level for 13 years, and the League Managers' Association (LMA) has been scathing about Leeds United’s contribution to that statistic.

Figures released by the LMA yesterday showed that 47 managers have been dismissed during the season that is about to end, with 20 of them being in the Championship alone, a record number for the division.

LMA chief Richard Bevan said the figures were "very concerning. We don't want owners thinking this a casino. It's not stick or twist, sack the manager and let's see if we can get up a couple of places into the play-offs."

And we all know which Championship owner was the biggest culprit, with the dismissals of Brian McDermott, Dave Hockaday, Darko Milanič and Neil Redfearn all coming within the last 12 months, so it was no surprise that Bevan singled him out for criticism.

He told BBC Sport "I'm not going to make a comment about existing staff there, but what I can tell you is there are ex-employees who are having to go through the legal process in order to sort out their contracts.”

“I am in the process of speaking to the FA and the Football League because it's not a way to run a business. It's not a way to run a football club and I think you'll find 99 per cent of Leeds fans agree with me."

So will Cellino learn from the chaos he created last season and decide to give his latest head coach a chance? Rösler is one of the best of the coaches we could have hoped to attract in our current circumstances, so we’ll just have to hope that Cellino allows him to do his job and that the LMA aren’t saying the same things about his this time next year.

But will that be too much to answer for?
