Leeds face competition for transfer targets
Thursday, 27th Aug 2015 17:57 by Tim Whelan

As Uwe Rosler works to improve the squad before the transfer window shuts, he is facing rival bids from Brighton and Hove Albion and Sheffield Wednesday for two of his targets.

Rosler travelled to Bury this week to watch defender Liam Moore play for Leicester in their League Cup tie, but it seems we’re not the only club looking to take the 22-year old on a one year loan. The Leicester Mercury have claimed that Brighton have also made an enquiry, and the paper has also said no fewer than four other Championship clubs have shown an interest in the player.

Moore has come through Leicester’s academy, but it seems that he is not likely to be in contention for a regular place in their Premier League side this season. Nevertheless, they Foxes have made it clear that they aren’t looking to sell the defender just yet, and are only considering a year-long loan.

Leeds are also facing competition from Sheffield Wednesday for the signature of striker Fernando Forestieri. We have offered Watford £3 million for the player, but he is stalling over our offer of a contract, and some reports are claiming he’s not that keen to come to Elland Road. Perhaps we really aren’t famous any more.

Sheffield Wednesday have taken note that we haven’t yet got this deal over the line, and are said to be preparing a rival bid of their own.

I’m sure there’ll be plenty more transfer talk as we approach next week’s deadline, so watch this space.
