Leeds reunited with old midfield favourite!
Leeds reunited with old midfield favourite!

Leeds United will travel to Cambridge in the 3Rd Round of the FA Cup.

Having watched the draw tonight and resisted the urge to spew in the waste bucket at the BBC'S nauseating eulogy to fallen giants Manchester United (complete with a Mark Chapman/Andy Cole lurve in) our journey to succeed the other United in the 136th year of this competition starts with a trip to the humble Abbey Stadium in Cambridge.

You have to go back nearly 33 years for our last visit to Cambridge, we drew 2-2 there in the old Division Two at the back end of the 83/84 season. They are managed by Shaun Derry, who of course served us between 2005-2008 becoming a cult-figure in the stands.

However Derry abruptly left Elland Road, returning to crystal Palace initially on-loan in 2007. His departure came amidst suggestions by then boss Dennis Wise that one of the playing staff leaked details of the Leeds team sheet to that days opponents who ironically were Crystal Palace.

However there is no suggestion that Shaun Derry was the mole. I'm sure he'll get a great reception from the travelling fans when the tie takes place on or around January 7th next year.

The away allocation is only 1600 out a total capacity of 9,617, so tickets will be hard to get hold of. But there might be a chance of the game being televised, as five matches from the 3rd. round will be covered, and there aren't too many obvious games for the BBC and BT Sport to select.
