Leeds United: Garry Monk and Modou Barrow reunited at Elland Road
Tuesday, 31st Jan 2017 20:55 by @LucasMonk_

Leeds United have concluded a second deal on deadline day. The 24 year-old Gambian international Modou Barrow, who can function as either a winger or a striker, has signed for Leeds United on loan from Swansea City of the Premier League until the end of the season.

Leeds United head coach Garry Monk has signed Modou Barrow for a second time as the Gambian, capped on five occasions by his nation of birth, links up with the squad at Elland Road until the end of the season. Monk had previously signed the player as manager of Swansea, from Ostersunds FK in the summer of 2014, where Barrow had scored 10 goals in 19 appearances.

The fleet-footed attacker is no stranger to the Championship, having previously enjoyed loan spells with both Nottingham Forest and Blackburn Rovers in 2015. Leeds have reportedly fended off additional interest from divisional rivals Newcastle to secure the signature of Barrow, who was yet to appear for Swansea in 2017 prior to today's developments.

Like fellow deadline day loanee Alfonso Pedraza, Barrow will be unavailable for tomorrow's visit to Blackburn Rovers, but he could make his debut in what will be a climacteric clash away to Huddersfield Town on Sunday.

The Gambian is United's third (and plausibly final) signing of the January transfer window, following in the footsteps of Pablo Hernandez and the aforementioned Pedraza.
