Leeds United: Young goalkeeper signs three-year contract at Elland Road
Sunday, 9th Jul 2017 21:36 by @LucasMonk_

Leeds United have today, on the club's official website, made public the news of a contract for 20-year-old goalkeeper Bailey Peacock-Farrell.

The Darlington-born stopper, who began his career with divisional rivals Middlesbrough, has agreed a new three-year contract with the Whites. He will therefore remain at the club until the conclusion of the 2019/2020 season.

Throughout the last campaign, Peacock-Farrell appeared frequently for United's under-23 squad having made his first-team debut under the tutelage of the then head coach Steve Evans in April 2016.

Having agreed to remain at Elland Road for the foreseeable future, the player joins figures such as defenders Lewie Coyle and Matthew Downing who have also signed new contracts in recent weeks.

For the forthcoming season, though, it would seem that the fledgling 'keeper shall play his football elsewhere in a loan spell. A move to Oldham Athletic of League One has been reputed and would aid in the furtherance of his career.

The news has brought happiness to United supporters who are, quite reasonably, elated to see that the club has retained a player that is held in high regard by the Leeds coaching staff.
