Pellegrini Fires Warning
Friday, 18th Apr 2014 14:12

City boss Manuel Pellegrini has fired a warning to title rivals Liverpool and Chelsea by saying they will slip up before the end of the season. He also confirmed Yaya Toure, David Silva and Jesus Navas are suffering with injury ahead of Monday night's Premier League clash with West Brom. City are six points behind leaders Liverpool and four adrift on Chelsea with a game in hand.

They face West Bromwich Albion at the Etihad Stadium on Monday night looking to bounce back from the defeat at Liverpool last weekend and the midweek draw with Sunderland.

Pellegrini told The Manchester Evening News " I am absolutely sure that the teams will drop more points.

"It can be Liverpool, Chelsea, the same way we dropped points the last game.

"We have to play for another 15 points. We will try to win the most amount of points and at the end of the season we will see which team wins the title."

Pellegrini also commented on the injury issues which have blighted City's season.

"We continue with the same situation with Yaya Toure, David Silva and Jesus Navas. The three of them are injured at the moment.

"Yaya is improving but he has a muscle injury so it is difficult for him to be back so soon."

"There has been an important amount of injuries during this season but not only for our team," he announced. "We have played so many games with a lot of intensity but normally all the other teams who play in all the competitions have a lot of injuries. Of course, it is a problem.
