An unnamed Ivory Coast international team-mate as claimed Toure will not return to City in a French national newspaper. Toure relationship with City has soured over the summer with various reports of his unhappiness.

The team-mate was quoted in Le Parisien as saying: “He has accumulated too many grudges against [Manchester City's] leaders and he will not stay with them.

“He will do everything to ensure his departure this summer.”
