City have been dealt a big blow with news breaking that Alvaro Negredo has fractured the fifth metatarsal in his right foot and will now be out for two to three months.

The injury occurred in Fridays 2-1 friendly defeat of Hearts.

Negredo has been linked with a move away from the Etihad but the injury means there’s no chance Real Madrid will look to the former Castilla centre-forward as a replacement for Alvaro Morata now.
