Nightmare For Mangala Nearly Costs City
Sunday, 28th Sep 2014 10:41

Dzeko scored twice as City made hard work of beating Hull City 4-2 at the KC Stadium on Saturday. City stormed in to 2-0 lead after just 11 minutes with Aguero and the Dzeko scoring. Disaster then struck for Mangala.

French defender had a disastrous 10-minute spell he will want to forget in a hurry.

First he headed into his own net when barely under pressure, then gave away a needless penalty that allowed Steve Bruce's spirited side back into the game.

Toure came close to putting City back in front early in the second half when he shot from 30 yards only to be denied by the post. Has the clock ticked down City needed inspiration and luckily Silva was there to provide it.

The Spanish midfielder flew across the face of Hull's defence to feed Dzeko on the left of the area and his first-time finish was enough to beat McGregor's dive.

As Hull poured forward looking for an equaliser , they left themselves at risk of being caught on the break and so it proved as Zabaleta reached the byline and cut the ball back for Lampard to finish from inside the six-yard box.
