City Need To Close The Gap
Friday, 3rd Oct 2014 13:49

City aim to move a step closer to Premier League leaders Chelsea when they clash with Aston Villa on Saturday night . City have been struggling for consistency so far this season with two wins, two defeats and three draws in their last seven matches in all competitions.By comparison, Villa’s fast start in the league has subsided in recent weeks with back to back 3-0 defeats to Arsenal (h) and Chelsea (a).

Team News

Nasri is the only player unavailable for City with Fernando and Nastasic both back in contention.

Christian Benteke could return for Villa on Saturday after his recovery from a ruptured Achilles. Captain Ron Vlaar is still sidelined with a calf injury.

Stats

Villa and City have not drawn together in each of their past 11 meetings.

City have won five of their last six Premier League meetings with Villa.

Villa are on a two-game losing streak, their worst run of form since back-to-back defeats at the end of last season.

City have not lost in four games but have twice been held to 1-1 draws since defeat in Munich last month.
