Reports have emerged in the press today City have approached Borussia Dortmund about the possibility of signing Marco Reus — and have asked the German giants to keep them updated over his availability.

Borussia Dortmund may be reluctant to sell, but they have so far failed to re-negotiate Marco Reus’ contract which has a reported £20 million release that activates next summer.

The 25-year old has scored a stunning 25 goals and 18 assisted in 43 games in all competitions for Jürgen Klopp’s side.

Reus was the Footballer of the Year in Germany in 2012 and was on the UEFA Team of the Year in 2013.
