Kompany Calms Fears

Vincent Kompany as calmed worries about his fitness. Kompany was substituted after just 55 minutes of Belgium's 6-0 hammering of minnows Andorra.

The talismanic defender and captain for both club and country was taken off early with his side three goals to the good to be then seen clutching an ice pack to his knee on the sidelines.

"I came off as a precaution," Kompany told RTBF. "Before the game, I already had a slight problem and the coach decided to take me out. I am now getting ready for Bosnia. It was not easy out there."

Kompany also said he was pleased by the performance.
