City Can't Get It Wrong
Wednesday, 10th Dec 2014 10:39

City and Pellegrini cannot afford to get it wrong tonight at Stadio Olimpico in Rome. Assuming CSKA Moscow do not win in Munich, then a score draw or victory will be enough to see them through to the last 16. A Roma victory or a goalless draw would put them through at City’s expense. City have gone out in the group stage twice in three attempts and their task has been made even harder after leading scorer Sergio Aguero was injured against Everton on Saturday.

Team News

The main news for City is the four to six weeks injury lay off for Aguero but that is certainly not City's only problems. Kompany,Silva and Kompany are all fighting a battle to be fit. Key midfielder Yaya Toure is also missing through suspension.

Castan is set to miss the clash with an injury for Roma while Torosidis is a doubt.

Stats

Roma have kept a clean sheet in 6 of their last 20 home European games, going on to win 5 and draw 1 of these matches.

City have kept a clean sheet in 2 of their last 12 away European games, going on to win 2 and draw 0 of these matches.

City have never won a competitive match in Italy in four previous attempts.
