Lampard Set To Stay
Friday, 26th Dec 2014 01:09

Frank Lampard has agreed to extend his loan deal at City reports in the Daily Mirror say. The new deal it is said will keep the midfileder at Eastlands until Toure returns from the African Cup Of Nations. Former Chelsea midfielder Lampard, 36, has scored six goals in 15 games for City since joining on loan deal from their MLS franchise New York City FC back in August.

Pellegrini spoke to the Manchester Evening news about Lampard.

“One of the reasons we asked him to play here was because we knew Yaya would be leaving us to go to the African Cup of Nations,I’m confident he’ll stay but I can’t say 100 per cent because it doesn’t depend just on me,” said Pellegrini.

“It’s not so easy because Frank is a New York City player. He’s only on loan until December so we must respect the other people.”

An announcement is expected in the next few days, with Lampard expected to stay with the Blues at least until February and possibly until the end of the season.
