EA Sports Player Performance Index : Stoke Vs Man City
Tuesday, 10th Feb 2015 21:57

Stoke will be confident coming into this week’s fixture having already picked up three points against Man City at the Etihad earlier on in the season. Stoke are now unbeaten in three matches, picking up seven points from a possible nine, and will want to extend their unbeaten run to four matches to cement their place in the top half of the table.

They will be looking to their in-form keeper Asmir Begovic to continue to deliver the goods for them this weekend, having only let in two goals in his last three matches. The EA SPORTS Player Performance Index can reveal that the Bosnia and Herzegovina international shot stopper has made 50 saves so far this season, at an average of 1.72 saves per goal conceded this term. He will look to extend that ratio further by delivering his second clean sheets in four with his second clean sheet of the season against Man City.

In the middle of the park, Steven N’Zonzi has continued to be the main man for Stoke, and the EA SPORTS Player Performance Index reveals the secrets to his success. N’Zonzi has covered a squad best 267km already this term, which has enabled him to see more of the ball than many of his teammates. N’Zonzi has completed a squad best 779 passes, of which 80.2% have been completed in the opposition half of the pitch. He will look to dictate the tempo in the right areas of the park for Stoke, and City will need to press him early.

Up top, Jon Walters has re-kindled his form of late, and the EA SPORTS Player Performance Index illustrates just how good his form has been. Walters has found the net seven times this season, converting 46.7% of his 15 shots on goal this season. They key to his success is not the quantity of his shots, but the precision of them, hitting the target with 66.7% of them. He is 13/4 to score anytime with 888sport.com.

Manchester City will be looking for their first win since New Years Day against Stoke, but they will have reason to be optimistic. City have still only lost one game in their last 10 Premier League outings, and they will believe there to be no reason why that run can’t be turned into only one defeat in 11.

City will hope that England international shot-stopper Joe Hart can continue his fantastic form to deliver a clean sheet for the Blues. The EA SPORTS Player Performance Index can reveal that reveal that Hart has made 47 saves already this term, at an average of 2.35 saves per goal conceded. He will hope to further extend that ratio this week to help close the gap on league leaders Chelsea.

One of City’s stars of the season so far has undoubtedly been Spain international midfielder David Silva, as demonstrated by the EA SPORTS Player Performance Index. Silva has found the back of the net seven times so far this season, beating the keeper with one in three attempts on goal. It is no surprise that he has got four assists to his name as well, having racked up 761 passes in the opposition area. If given time on the ball, he has the ability to unlock a defence with his vision and finishing ability.

The man that he will look to supply is, unsurprisingly, Sergio Aguero. The EA SPORTS Player Performance Index illustrates just how good Aguero’s form has been this season, with his 14 goals this season coming at an average of one every 95.7 minutes. Stoke may hope that there is minimal stoppage time tomorrow night, but Aguero is 26/25 to score anytime with 888sport.com.
