Garry Monk says the pressure is now on Blackpool next Sunday to secure their play off spot

The Swansea City captain was referring to the last weekend of the season where the Swans have to beat Doncaster and hope that Blackpool fail to do the same against Bristol City for his team to make the play offs themselves.

And having dropped out of the top six for the first time this year, Monk insists that the pressure is now on Blackpool to secure the last play off position.

He told the Western Mail "We can’t worry about Blackpool

"The pressure is on them to maintain their position. The situation has turned around now. But we just have to look at the positives.

“We have to focus on going out there to completely dominate Doncaster and get the three points. After that, football is a crazy game and you don’t know what will happen.

“The pressure is now on Blackpool and they have to win their game. I think we will win so lets see how they deal with it. Hopefully Bristol City, with Steve Coppell taking over, will be looking to impress. Hopefully someone like Nicky Maynard can put in a performance and do us a favour.”
