Why Exeter boss is relishing Pompey's visit Thursday, 6th Feb 2014 21:40 by pompey-fans.com staff Exeter boss Paul Tisdale believes a large Pompey following on Saturday could lift his players. The Grecians manager is looking forward to sending out his team against one he regards as the biggest in League Two. He told the Exeter website: 'Portsmouth are one of the more attractive teams in the league, if you look at the history of their league positions over the past ten years, and that they have won the FA Cup recently and have had lots of very good players that have played there. 'They are a particularly vibrant football club with a big support. Not only are we playing a team that have recently won the FA Cup, we’re playing against a team that bring a large travelling support. They will be a larger draw for supporters than your average League 2 team. 'Most footballers respond to atmosphere and energy inside the ground. I believe they are bringing a good level of support and I don’t think that can harm our prospects whatsoever. The more noise inside St James Park, the better, no matter who it comes from. 'I’m expecting a large crowd, a large following from Portsmouth and a good response from my players.' What is Pompey's problem? Inconsistency? A squad that's simply not good enough? Complacency? Or something else? Discuss it on the forum.
