Pompey boss: We deserved to down Dons Saturday, 15th Feb 2014 21:30 by pompey-fans.com staff Richie Barker felt Pompey were worthy winners on a rain and wind-affected afternoon at Fratton Park. Ryan Taylor's early second-half header clinched a 1-0 victory that went some way to erasing the memory of Pompey's 4-0 defeat at Kingsmeadow in November. 'I have to give credit to the players — especially in the last 10 minutes when Wimbledon threw everything at us,' Barker told the Pompey website. 'There was a fantastic attitude and mental desire to make sure we won that game. With the way they threw themselves in the way of everything, I think we deserved the win. 'Daniel Alfei put in a great delivery and it was a brave header from Ryan — it probably deserved to win a football match.' Barker admitted it was not the most entertaining of clashes, but said the poor weather and heavy pitch were factors in that. Discuss Pompey's win over Wimbledon on the forum.
