Another stalemate - but are there Pompey positives too?
Another stalemate - but are there Pompey positives too?

Pompey remain too close for comfort to League Two's bottom two after their third successive goalless draw.

The stalemate at home to Burton means it's now been four games since the Blues conceded - but three since they scored.

That will please some and dismay others, with the entertainment levels being served up a major worry, even if defensive solidity has been found in fine style.

Wins for the bottom two - Torquay and Northampton - add the pressure on the clutch of sides just above them and Pompey sit 17th on 42 points - five above 23rd place - going into Saturday's trip to fifth-placed Fleetwood.

Pompey were off the pace for much of the first half but perked up after the break and looked the likelier side to pinch the points. But their attacking play petered out late on and Burton might have stolen the win bonus with more composure in front of goal.

Are you put off watching Pompey by a string of goalless draws? Or is it a means to an end?
