Andy Awford insists Pompey will play their strongest team and go all out for a sixth straight win at Bury.

The boss raised a few eyebrows when he made eight changes at Northampton on Monday - but the tinkering paid off with a 1-0 victory.

Awford says there'll be no let-up as Pompey try to achieve a top-half finish. He told The News: 'This will be the best team I feel to get a result. It won’t be “let’s have a look at him” and bring a couple of kids in.

‘If the kids are good enough and I think they are the best selection to play in that team then they will play. If they are not then they won’t and that’s the same as the pros. This game won’t be any different.

‘It will be the XI and subs we think are the best to get a result. We have now got to finish as high up the league as we can and get two more wins, so we will be going all-out.

‘The squad is no different as we were for Northampton, although we have Ben back in after being unavailable. It’s a lovely problem to have, they have all done really well.’
