Hawks 0 Pompey 4: Westcarr wows 'em as Blues start with win Saturday, 12th Jul 2014 19:46 by pompey-fans.com staff Two goals by Craig Westcarr helped Pompey get their pre-season campaign off to a winning start as they put four second-half goals past the Hawks at Westleigh Park. A 2,500 crowd turned out to see Andy Awford give pretty much all his available squad - 26 players in total - at least some match time. The first half was goalless but second-half sub Westcarr scored from close range soon after the restart after a cross by Danny East. Ryan Bird was put in by Ricky Holmes to slot in the second and Holmes turned scorer to make it 3-0 with eight minutes left. Westcarr looked impressive and doubled his debut tally as he followed up Danny Hollands' saved shot. Pompey: Poke (Jones 46); Webster (East 46), Devera, (Chorley 46), Whatmough (Wynter 32 (Ertl 63)), Shorey (Butler 46); Atangana (c) (Hollands 46), Dunne (Awford 32 (Close 63)); Tarbuck (Bird 46), Wallace (Westcarr 46), Barcham (Maloney 32 (Holmes 63)); Agyemang (Taylor 32 (Storey 63)).
