Pools point is better than none for Pompey
Sunday, 28th Sep 2014 09:02 by pompey-fans.com staff

Pompey had to settle for a point at Haertlepool despite having the best phases of the clash at Victoria Park.

Patrick Agyemang and Craig Westcarr each put good chances over the bar in the first half and the 500 Blues fans presented could have counted as many as eight good opportunities throughout the game.

Hartlepool weren't without their own chances, with Brad Walker having one effort superbly saved by Paul Robinson.

Westcarr had Pompey's best opening of the second half but keeper Scott Flinders was out quickly to deny him.

The point moves Pompey up to eighth and they go to York next Saturday.

Awford said: ‘Every point is a good point, especially away from home. But we will look back at those chances and think we probably should have had all three.'
