Two defenders on way back to Pompey... and what about two coaches? Tuesday, 9th Dec 2014 22:06 by pompey-fans.com staff Two Pompey defenders are closing in on returns to the first team after long absences from injury - while two former Fratton figures are among those in the frame to replace Alan McLoughlin. Danny East and Adam Webster both played for the Blues' reserves in a 2-2 draw with Newport at the new training ground at Roko this afternoon. East has been out all season with a pelvic injury but camr through about half an hour of the second string game. Webster has been out around two months but he too came through a reserves appearance unscathed, while Joe Devera was another to feature who should soon add to Andy Awford's options at the back. Meanwhile, Kevin Dillon and Shaun North are reported to be among those being considered for the vacant coach's role at Fratton following McLoughlin's departure. The News said both fitted the criteria set by the board as they weigh up their options and the paper added that it understood both were 'receptive' to the idea of the role. Awford will select the new coach and is in the process of meeting potential new additions to his backroom staff, reported The News.
