Blues aim for a Boxing Day knockout Thursday, 25th Dec 2014 22:08 by pompey-fans.com staff Pompey's Boxing Day clash at home to AFC Wimbledon doesn't need to be a Christmas cracker - as long as it yields three points for the Blues. Andy Awford's team have had plenty of success at home in the first half of the campaign but very little on the road. And that means their loss to Accrington Stanley last time out on home turf leaves them little room for any more slip-ups. Last Saturday's 1-1 draw at Cheltenham, courtesy of Nigel Atangana's second-half strike, was an improvement in those away fortunes but that will mean little if the Blues can't follow it up with their seventh home win of the season against the Dons. Skipper Danny Hollands is confident Pompey can get the job done. 'AFC Wimbledon started off well and then had a bit of a difficult spell, but they’re a good side,' he told the PFC website. 'But I’m confident that we can collect the three points and then you’ve got a chance to build some momentum with another game following quickly after. Everyone’s in a good frame of mind at the moment and feeling positive, so we know we can do a job. 'I believe we’ve got a good group of players and that we can start moving in the right direction.' James Dunne is back in training but isn't yet fit for a first team return.
