New loan signing Josh Passley looks set to go straight into the Pompey team at Wycombe on Saturday.

He could slot into the side in place of Adam Webster as Pompey look to tighten up the defence and end a two-month winless run at the home of the leaders.

Passley is a Fulham player who has just ended a loan spell at Shrewsbury and he told the Pompey website: 'This is a great club with some great history behind it and hopefully I can help them pick up a few more wins. The move all happened very quickly — I only got the call from the gaffer last night to come down here.

'I’ve recently come back from a spell at Shrewsbury and I was looking to go straight back out again to get some more games and more experience of league football. I was playing with confidence during my time there and feeling better with every match I had.

'It was a big jump for me because it’s a lot quicker and players are stronger and sharper. You’re moving away from home and the football’s at a higher level, but you learn so much from the more experienced professionals.

'We were keeping clean sheets and winning games, so I want to do the same while I’m here. At the moment I’m only here for a month, but hopefully I can produce some decent performances and maybe extend that.'
