Pompey have work to do in Roberts bid Friday, 29th May 2015 20:22 by pompey-fans.com staff Pompey are making moves to add Gary Roberts to their midfield ranks - but have so far been knocked back. Manager Paul Cook wants the 31-year-old to follow him to Fratton from Chesterfield but the club's initial bid for him has been rejected. The Sheffield Star reported that Chesterfield chief executive Chris Turner had confirmed a bid from the Blues had been received but rejected. Roberts joined Chesterfield two years ago and helped them get out of League Two. He has previously played for Swindon and Huddersfield. Pompey have already added Kyle Bennett and Kai Naismith to the squad since Cook arrived.
