Midfielder deal nears for Cook as two ex-Blues go elsewhere Friday, 3rd Jul 2015 23:17 by pompey-fans.com staff Pompey seem to be close to making Michael Doyle their latest signing. The former Sheffield United man was at the Blues’ training ground today to talk terms. The News reported that Doyle met chief executive Mark Catlin and coaching staff. He had been expected to go on the training trip to Portugal but stayed behind. Doyle would be Pompey's eighth signing since Paul Cook arrived as manager. Two players who have left Pompey are Andy Barcham - who has joined AFC Wimbledon - and Dan Butler, who has signed for Torquay.
