Reunions the order of the day at Fratton
Reunions the order of the day at Fratton

Paul Cook and Leam Richardson are plotting the downfall of the team they used to run when Pompey host Accrington Stanley.

The management pair both played for Stanley and coached and managed them, but their loyalties lie with Pompey now and their aim on Saturday afternoon will be to continue Pompey's unbeaten start to the campaign.

Kai Naismith is another ex-Accy man now at Fratton and he says he will be pleased to meet up with some of his old pals.

He was involved for the first time this season at Exeter but would appear unlikely to force his way into Cook's 'league team' this soon.

He told Pompey website: 'I've never played against a former club before, but it will be good to see all the lads again. We'll have a chat before kick-off, but then the focus just switches to the game and trying to get three points.

'They'll be well organised and there are no egos in the changing room, so it's definitely going to be a tough game.'

Pompey could go second with a win while Accrington can jump to upper mid-table if they take the points.
