Pompey boss Paul Cook says he won't make big changes after taking only one point from six in two home games last week. Instead he will concentrate his efforts on getting the team to do the basics better.

The Blues go to Cambridge on Saturday aiming to put the defeat to Exeter and draw with Yeovil with behind them. Cook says he is not worried too much by individual results but prefers to look at the bigger picture.

Cook told the Pompey website: 'Because of things like social media, managers are put under the microscope far too quickly. Look at Arsenal — it was the end of the world when they lost to a Greek side in the Champions League and then a few days later they’ve beaten Manchester United. The reality of football means that you will have bad days throughout the season.

'Unfortunately, our bad days at the moment are the result of us dominating the ball, but failing to score. A lot of the time the manager will look to change things to put that right, but I don’t buy into that.

'I’m not constantly clamouring for change — I believe you should just be better at what you do. We put 56 crosses into the box last Saturday and still didn’t win the game — it was frustrating. But we move on to the next match and will look to play good football. We won’t stray too far from where we are, but are focused on trying to get that first goal.'
