Marc McNulty hopes to see a more relaxed Pompey do the business at Carlisle on Saturday.

The on-loan Sheffield United striker made his league debut in Sunday's 0-0 draw with AFC Wimbledon - Pompey's sixth home draw of the campaign.

He told the Pompey website afterwards: 'It was a frustrating result for us and the longer the game wore on, the more we tried to force passes. The boys have told me that our away record is a lot better this season for whatever reason — maybe it’s that they’re more relaxed.

'So I’m looking forward to going to Carlisle on Saturday and we’ll visit there with plenty of confidence.'

McNulty said he was delighted to play a full game for the first time in a while, adding: 'The gaffer, coaching staff and all the boys have made me feel very welcome since I arrived here. That’s what you want when you arrive at a new club — it’s nice when people make it feel like home.

'The move was a long time coming, but I’m here now and have enjoyed my time at Pompey so far. It’s important for me to get regular games at this stage of my career and that’s what I want to do here.'
