Duo's Pompey future remains in the balance
Thursday, 9th Jun 2016 23:13 by pompey-fans.com staff

Pompey are playing it cool over whether Ben Davies and Danny Hollands could remain at Fratton Park.

Both are out of contract and have yet to agree new deals. While Pompey are not short of midfield options, taking the pressure over the need to get a Hollands deal over the line, they are short at right-back - or at least would be if Davies moved on.

Chief exec Mark Catlin said: 'Talks are ongoing. We’re remaining in constant contact with both Ben and Danny. We have to see what happens now over the coming weeks.

‘It’s just a case of seeing what materialises with them. Neither party are putting a definitive timescale on things. We’re not putting a deadline on when it should be that we conclude talks.

‘The players don’t come back for pre-season for almost another month. If it goes on and has to wait until then, so be it. There’s a relaxed stance on the situation from all parties.’
