Havant's a happy hunting ground for Blues Wednesday, 13th Jul 2016 23:04 by pompey-fans.com staff Paul Cook was happy to see Pompey hunt down the Hawks in their first pre-season friednly this side of the Irish Sea. They beat their non-league neighbours 5-0 with a couple of Cook's new boys and trialists catching the eye. Pompey moved into the lead on 12 minutes when Milan Lalkovic put Gary Roberts in on goal and - on the day he said he thought he was an average performer last season - he finished without breaking sweat. Carl Baker doubled the lead before the interval with the goal of the night - a sweetly-hit strike from all of 30 yards that flew in. Woth the result not in doubt from that point, Conor Chaplin and Enda Stevens both went close to a third before Roberts set up Baker for No3 after Lalkovic’s shot was pushed out. Former Reading striker Noel Hunt came on for a surprise appearance as a trialist and he converted a Stevens cross to make it 4-0. Curtis Main completed the night's scoring, pouncing after a Christian Oxlade-Chamberlain shot was saved.
