Passion at Pompey? Expect it this weekend...
Thursday, 22nd Sep 2016 22:53 by pompey-fans.com staff

Paul Cook expects passion at Pompey on Saturday - from the opposition dugout.

The Fratton boss has praised his Barnet counterpart Martin Allen and the job he has done for the Bees ahead of the sides' League Two clash.

Cook told the Pompey website: 'He did a fantastic job to get them back into the Football League and they’ve got a strong, well-balanced team. He’s been a manager for quite a few years now and has proven his worth at a number of different clubs. He’s passionate about football and I think that’s a good thing.

'It’s a difficult game for us, but then so is every game in this league. It’s certainly one we’re looking forward to.'

Cook wants Pompey to forget the defeat at Accrington last week and to try to kick-start another run of victories that preceded that loss.

He told the site: 'We fired rapidly with those four wins, but now we’ve stuttered again — that’s football and it’s going to happen.'
