Mansfield 0 Pompey 1: Baker cooks up an interesting final day Sunday, 30th Apr 2017 12:59 by pompey-fans.com staff Pompey took the League Two title race to the final day with a 1-0 win at Mansfield. Doncaster's loss to Exeter means the Blues can still lift the trophy - but would need to win against Cheltenham next week and hope that neither Rovers nor Plymouth, the new leaders, win their last games. They extended the race courtesy of Carl Baker's goal early in the second half of a game which in truth didn't contain too much quality from either side. Pompey fans filled the end at which Baker nabbed the winner with a smart turn and finish and they will not have cared about the quzlity of the game as they carried on celebrating promotion and went home knowing they had the bonus of still having the title to play for. Pompey: Forde; Evans, Burgess, Clarke, Stevens; Rose, M.Doyle; Baker (Roberts 77), Naismith, Bennett (Aborah 77); Chaplin (Whatmough 69). Subs not used: O’Brien, Linganzi, Lowe, Kabamba. Referee: Lee Swabey Attendance: 6.819 (1,459 Pompey fans)
