Now will Pompey see a Doyle coming in other direction?
Saturday, 20th May 2017 09:14 by pompey-fans.com staff

Reports in Lancashire say Pompey want to sign Eoin Doyle.

The Preston striker scored twice in 12 games in a loan spell at the start of 2017 before injury ended his season early.

The Lancashire Evening Post says talks will be held between the clubs with a view to him joining Paul Cook's squad.

The LEP says: 'Despite interest from three clubs in League One, the
frontman chose to move to Fratton Park on transfer deadline day in January. The loan switch reunited Doyle with Pompey boss Paul Cook who had managed him at Chesterfield.

'With first-team chances at North End limited last
season, they would not stand in his way if Portsmouth seek to keep him. Doyle spent most of the 2015/16 campaign on loan with PNE from Cardiff. They signed him last July on a permanent basis but he was never a regular.'

Pompey skipper Michael Doyle left for Coventry last week, while Enda Stevens is poised to go to Sheffield United. But Kyle Bennett and Gareth Evans are among players committing to new deals.
