Bennett's message to fans over Pompey's start to season
Monday, 21st Aug 2017 22:11 by pompey-fans.com staff

Kyle Bennett has pleaded for patience as Pompey's new players and management team get used to life at Fratton Park.

After a winning start to their League One campaign, the Blues have taken only one point from their last two games - most recently battling back to draw 1-1 with Walsall at Fratton on Saturday.

Bennett urged fans not to fret and told the club website: 'It’s a long season and you can’t get down after three games — especially as we’ve still managed to collect four points. We’ve got a new manager and quite a few new players, so it will take some time for us to all get used to each other.'

Bennett came off the bench on Saturday for his 100th Pompey appearance, adding: 'It’s a great achievement for me and hopefully I can play many more games for Pompey.

'This is a fantastic club and it really only feels like yesterday when I first came down to sign here. I love being here and 100 games is quite a lot for any player to feature in for one club, so I’m delighted with that.

'The first year was disappointing because we lost in the play-offs, but we picked ourselves up to win the league. So I’m pleased with my time here and hopefully I’ve been able to contribute to that success we’ve had.'
