Pompey head to Peterborough with their players being told: Don't leave all the goalscoring to Brett Pitman.

Kenny Jackett has been enouraged by his team winning their last two games in the league to move into the top ten, but wants less reliance on top scorer Pitman to find the target.

Pitman will be bidding to add to his 12-goal tally at London Road, where Pompey will be up against the side immediately below them in the division, but his team-mates will be out to satisfy Jackett's wish to share the strikes around.

He told the portsmouthfc.co.uk website he didn't think his team had played a lot better in beating Blackpool and Southend than they had in defeat against the likes of Bradford anf Luton. He said: 'There were a number of those defeats where we could have got results.

'We created quite a few chances but, as ever, if you don’t put them away then you can’t complain about that. There have been a lot of very tight games that could have gone either way, but the bottom line is the result.

'Finishing is such an important part of the game — and at the moment we’ve got someone who can do that and make a real difference. The side is set up for Brett Pitman and his strengths because you have to use your assets, although would I like more goals to come from other areas? Yes, I would.'
