Curtis fate uncertain - as Pompey's plans take shape Tuesday, 15th May 2018 20:44 by pompey-fans.com staff Ronan Curtis is said to be close to a move to Pompey - unless Reading tempt him to the Championship. The 22-year-old Derry City striker was in Portsmouth today (Tuesday) to talk about a transfer that would cost Pompey £100,000-plus. But reports suggest Reading are now also interested. Derry chairman Philip O'Doherty was quoted on Tuesday morning as saying: 'As far as I’m aware, Ronan will travel over to Portsmouth on Tuesday (today) to meet with club officials and have a look around the area. ‘We have been in discussions with Portsmouth and have agreed to maintain confidentiality in respect of any possible transfer fee. Another English club has made contact with us but, at this stage, I’m not prepared to identify that club as I feel it would disrespectful. ‘The club has expressed an interest in Ronan and has asked to be kept informed of his plans for the future. ‘I’m not prepared to say anything more than that at this point in time.’ It comes as Pompey add to their pre-season programme. Having already confirmed they are visiting Cork on July 2 and Havant and Waterlooville on July 7, they have now inked in a visit to League Two side Stevenage on Saturday, July 14. Three Tuesday night friendlies in July have been lined up for a 'Pompey XI'. They will visit Moneyfields on July 10 (7.45pm), Gosport on July 17 (7.30pm) and Bognor on July 24 (7.45pm).
