Jackett won't allow Pompey any road trip grumbles
Thursday, 1st Nov 2018 23:01 by pompey-fans.com staff

As Kenny Jackett takes Pompey through a run of away games that would test any team, you won't hear him grumbling about the way the fixtures have fallen.

Pompey were at Accrington last week, go to Bradford this week and Maidenhead in the FA Cup and will then be on the road again before another home league game.

But the fact the Blues have done so well on the road so far this term is probably helping the manager stay upbeat about the current schedule.

Looking ahead to the visit to Valley Parade, Jackett told www.portsmouthfc.co.uk: 'It is what it is. We understand and know that a number of challenges will have to be overcome if we want to have a successful season. We’re still alive in three competitions, although our priority is undoubtedly the league and we have a great opportunity with the position we’re in.

'You have to adapt to international breaks and games being off because there’s nothing you can do about it. There’s the potential for a lot of games between the end of November and early January and fixtures being rearranged only adds to that congestion.

'But we’ll make sure that we’re properly prepared and will be ready when that period comes around.'

The Bradford clash is bottom v top but Jackett has warned Pompey not to let their recent standards slip one bit.
