He's been exceptional - Kamara wins high praise for inspiring Pompey win at Wycombe

Jon Harley was quick to heap praise on Abu Kamara after the winger produced another top-class display to inspire Pompey to an Easter treat of a victory at Wycombe Wanderers.

Kamara had a hand in all three Blues goals in their 3-1 win, which has kept them five points ahead of Derby and 11 points in front of third-placed Bolton with six games to play.

The on-loan Norwich man has been a key component in the Blues' success in recent weeks, and Harley, in charge on the touchline with banned John Mousinho in the stand, told the media: 'He’s been exceptional for the past few months and on top of that, is also such a great lad. He showed his class.

'Abu was outstanding and if I was a left-back playing against him, it would be the most difficult thing to do. He can go inside or outside and that end product you see is something that he’s really been working hard on.'

But it was not only Kamara who shone at Adams Park - this was another team effort that made it 10 wins and three draws from Pompey's past 13 outings.

Harley added: ’It's an incredible feeling and at the business end of the season, it was key to carry on that momentum. We wanted the performance, but at this stage of the season, really it’s all about getting those points on the board.

'It felt a bit quiet from us at times in the first half and the key message was to show some more energy. We knew it was going to be a fight after the break and everyone stood up to that – the energy was raised.

"We wanted the performance, but at this stage of the season, really it’s all about getting those points on the board. Colby has been working hard and there’s never issue with his performances because it’s always so selfless.

'To get to this stage of the season with the number of points we have is credit to all those big characters. As boring as it sounds, our focus now is just on one game at a time and a massive contest with Derby on Tuesday.'

Not Quite Robert Prosineki but for his age getting close, shame if we can not crry on harnessing his natural talent.
