Oh for this kind of professionalism and attention to detail at QPR ...

But not meticulous of course.

All the things they are doing seem sensible, particularly the use of measurement. As mentioned in the clip some of the improvements were made in the light of Leicester losing in the play-offs last year.

I wonder if the support staff interviewed have been there all along or have been brought in by Pearson?

Also interesting that they don't intend to buy a lot of players (at least that's the line at the moment).

I wonder what we will learn should the play-offs not go well.

This thread has made me want to weep....

This is a great example of what I mean by 'causation' and 'correlation'.

Leicester have gone out and consciously adapted/improved what they were doing for input (the cause) outside of games because they appreciated it's about fine margins.

And you can see the effect on the pitch. Leicester are far more consistent, have closed out games far better, are visibily bigger and stronger (Lloyd Dyer?!) and prone to fewer errors. The fact it is basically the same players who got to the playoffs last year and then romped the league this year shows the impact good coaching and management can add.

That is what professional coaching and management is about.

The coaching team there are the cause of their success, it's not just mere correlation between them and the results on the pitch.

Fair play to them.

No Hunter, what Pearson does is 'not rocket science' - it's just picking two big centre backs, pacy wingers and two forwards who can finish. Apparently.
Remember - it's a simple game ;)

well foolham when they started their turn around, keegan? began to bring in specialists , ensuring the players health with dentists, chiropodists etc
players are an asset these days, who needs a player injured thru dropping a jam jar on their foot? or getting injured getting out of a car lol!

firstly you need a team spirit, heart, gumption and a belief in what you do. i feel too many at qpr are comfortable on a decent wage and devil may care attitude, who would run thru a brick wall for us in this set up?
off field DOES AFFECT on field.
so a good team spirit, get the fans onside with some passion and together =success!

Running through brick walls probably isn't going to help our injury crisis

They may have a similar approach to us but the difference is their team has a lot 'more legs than us'. Pace and stamina, I mean. We have been lacking in both. I do see an improvement with Yossi, Hoilett, Simpson and Ned. If we can keep them fit and get Traore in we could compete with them.

I think the nutritionist failed if you judge him/her by Gary Taylor Fletcher...;-)

Vey true.

Also, everyone talks about the player who makes it through the brick wall. Spare a thought for the unknown thousands who run into, but can't make it through?

You may remember Pearson saying in his interview there wouldn't be wholesale changes, particularly as the players that got them up deserved a chance.

Now the owners are saying they want to spend £180m to get into the top five in three years (how much £180m actually gets you is another matter).
