"Goal Of The Season" was a compilation of "Goals Of The Month" shown on MOTD during the season. They were only ever goals shown on BBC.
The ITV regional prorammes including "The Big Match" had something similar called "Golden Goals". |  |

IIRC the three or four years immediately prior to the start of the Premier League in 1992, ITV had the exclusive rights to show Football League matches (BBC may have shown the FA Cup). Remember Elton Welsby anyone? | |
