If she's going to take the cash out and sell, she better get a move on.

Think she has already taken out a fair chunk of cash already.
Out:
Luke Shaw - £31.5m to Manchester United

Rickie Lambert - £4m to Liverpool

Adam Lallana - £23m to Liverpool

Calum Chambers - £16m to Arsenal

Dejan Lovren - £20m to Liverpool

Lee Barnard - Free to Southend

Danny Fox - Free to Nottingham Forest

Andy Robinson - Free to Bolton

Tom Leggett, Isaac Nehemie - Undisclosed to Aston Villa

Guly de Prado, Jonathan Forte - Released

So £94.5M in transfer income.

Add in Morgan Schneiderlin and Jay Rodriguez and that could net a further £25-30M as income. So say minimum of £120M gained by a small south coast club with a very good academy set up, excellent training facilities and good scouting system. If you want to look at any reasons why we need Warren Farm Tony Fernandes that should be everything that you need to set your pulse racing as to a sound investment.

But its not all been one way.

Transfers in:
Dusan Tadic - £10.3m from Twente

Graziano Pelle - £8m from Feyenoord

Two good strikers from the dutch league who I think both outscored the Icelandic feller that we were interested in and probably have come in on much lower wages than the "new Helgur" was looking for. Again, good scouting network and sensible wage structure (with a very clear sell of being a good shop window for young players). And they have quite a few other bids in as well for players.

Chuck in Koeman as a coach and I think they will do well again next season, certainly they will be an attractive club to buy if they stay in the Premiership (once the new owner has finished asset stripping) because of that academy, the facilities and the ground. I dont think they will go down this year, but they may struggle a little initially.

Never knowingly understood

Thing is if Everton had 25-40m bids flying in for Coleman, McCarthy, Barkley etc they'd probably flog them all at once too.

They've got some talent coming through their academy, they won't get relegated this season though as there will be at least 3 worse teams than them.

This talent they have got coming through could well be asked to play top level football to early , and that can destroy young talent imo they are chancing their luck a bit to far

The opposite of that though is never letting your young players have a sniff at all, even if they have a promising taster debut (Harriman and Ehmer spring to mind). Or the Chelski, Tottenham, Liverpool route of just sucking up young talent just to avoid the opposition doing so, then dropping them without ever playing a meaningful game.

I'd still emulate the Southampton route, if they are good enough to play they will do fine. Its a big ask for their academy to fill all of the gaps, but the way they have seemingly churned out talent in the past makes you suspect that they might just do it again.

That many together at once ?
Timing has a lot to do with young players progress , their youngsters can't all be at the same level of progress mentally and physically at the same time

Two of their academy coaches, Jason Dodd and Paul Williams were sacked back in May, for 'not spending enough time with the players'

I'm sure they'll be fine this season but I do wonder if Southampton's problems run even deeper than just the first team squad being sold off.

There's something about Southampton. Them and Portsmouth are on such a rollercoaster ride that nothing surprises me anymore. It's not hard to imagine Pompey being above them in 5-10 years time if they get their shit together and Southampton keep eating a dick like they are this summer.

This is why football fans are idiots and shouldn't gloat. Glory is only fleeting, it's already gone by the time you are celebrating. One good season and now they are getting bummed. Bad times for the Saints.

Stefan Moore. Stefan Moore running down the wing. Stefan Moore. Stefan Moore running down the wing. He runs like a cheetah. His crosses couldn't be sweeter. Stefan Moore. Stefan Moore. Stefan Moore.

a club doing things right then get completely taken apart in one transfer window and back to square one, they've sold far too many this summer but guess it depends who they bring in

By 'doing things right' you presumably mean spending beyond their means chasing a top 4 place, failing and having to now cut their cloth accordingly.

Surprisingly nail on head considering it's the Mirror. The Premier League is now a cartel run for the benefit of the top six and FFP will ensure it stays that way in perpetuity so that any upstart who dares threaten the status quo will be "bummed" as Bluce puts it so eloquently and firmly put in their place.
