music does really seem to be the answer - mum is in recovery after a fall and a coma that the doctors thought she wouldn't survive, the music is the thing that she responded to before anything else - so some stuff we used to listen to

scotty, more power to you and best wishes to your mum.
Here's an up tempo little tune with some genuinely topical messages:
It should be stressed To change the world around us Before everyone is dead Distractions all around Mankind must be profound And look at what is up ahead
We can change our future We can change our future We can change our future Right now
RFA
"Things had started becoming increasingly desperate at Loftus Road but QPR have been handed a massive lifeline and the place has absolutely erupted. it's carnage. It's bedlam. It's 1-1."

Good God Scotty you posted 3 songs and I don't mind all of them
All the best to both you and your mum on a speedy recovery.
Some very very old school that both my parents liked and yes I don't mind
If a turtle doesn't have a shell, is he homeless or naked?
it is a miracle Ade - who'd have thought I'd post three acceptable songs - going to have to do something about that! Thanks to you and Isawqpr for the wishes - no absolute happy ending for mum yet but the fact that she's where she is now is a small miracle as they had given her no hope of a recovery. She loves Elvis as well so she would appreciate those posts. What about some dodgy looking 70s blokes
Sorry to hear about your mum Scotty. I read your original post quickly and didn't realise that this had happened recently.
thanks - yes it's an ongoing situation over the last 3 weeks. She was talking when she left us after a fall where she hit her head but she knew what had happened. The medics didn't treat it as a serious head injury and by the time the hospital at Truro looked at her sometime the next morning and realised how bad she was and she was airlifted to Derriford, where they have the specialist unit, it was 18 hours and by then she was in and out of consciousness, had to be resuscitated and had clots on the brain so it's been horrendous

thought I might have unintentionally put the kibosh on the music thread this week with my last post so here's something a bit more cheery that you probably won't like . Someone has knocked down a telegraph pole in sunny Wales and so, if you've noticed a certain quiet, he's been off-line for a week and is having withdrawal symptoms not being able to look at lfw

you might think that with the time it's taken so far - they hadn't done anything up to the first date they advised and at that time their first excuse was that they couldn't find the property. I told them that they'd been there before as I'd reported a fault there previously but I added it's not actually at the property it's a pole up on the roadside and a truck had driven into it and left a wing mirror embedded in it. They decided they needed two engineers and they'd be there the following day. That day they decided when they got there they needed someone's permission so they must have to go on someone's land to make the repair but you would think they would have some sort of wayleave agreement in place for that sort of thing. Anyway they are going to ring him on Monday and let him know what the next excuse is at that time
