many said, when they come down, it's down all the way, fans will fall away and then the real cash worries begin.
so 2 games in, 0 pts and yesterdays game v millwall was 5-6000 under capacity, millwall likely had a few 1000 there and are joint top.
as hannibal smith says in the A TEAM, " i love it when a plan comes together"!

As long as we can you use the "it's on sky and too expensive " for some away games then it's a deal !

Go for it, mate. TV, outrageous ticket prices, train prices/engineering works, extreme weather warnings, extreme kick-off times, weddings, birthdays, holidays, concern about pollution (Boro away), gymkhanas…I’m happy using any of those!

The problem is that most Fulham fans are used to watching Premier League football or their successful periods in the lower leagues, they don't want to watch a struggling team. They also won't get the neutral fans who used to show up to watch Man Utd, Liverpool..

"The problem is that most Fulham fans are used to watching Premier League football or their successful periods in the lower leagues, they don't want to watch a struggling team"

Are you basing this on an extensive series of interviews you've carried out across our support, the turnouts for our first two games outside the PL in thirteen years or is it just a hunch? And who does want to watch a struggling team?!

I personally don't like this crowing over the demise of another footballing non-entity. Glass houses etc. Bar some Zamora magic and a fair bit of luck, we could easily be struggling in the Championship ourselves, or could still be next season. Let's just focus on the Rangers. Chelsea would be the only exception to this rule and I'll take whatever glee I can find in what could easily be a horribly successful season for them.

I'd actually quite like it if they and Brentford came up to the Premier League (and we stayed up obviously). Would be crazy to have four West London teams up there.

It's all coming flooding back. "Who needs the Premier league? Looking forward to visiting proper grounds, winning lots of games, we've got money and classy players like Peacock, Spencer And Sheron". Next thing you know it's getting stuffed at Oxford, revolving door management, Koejoe and Ngonge up front, Vauxhall Motors, shaking buckets. As likely to happen to us again as anyone. Still, our grizzled hordes at Chesterfield and Peterborough were once misguided youthful glory-hunters, no doubt. I know I was.

Oh come on Konk everyone knows that your posh fans are not interested in watching a struggling team. If you are not promoted your support will dwindle. We have a hardcore support of 15k and that was through the dark days, your support was much lower before Fayed opened his cheque book.

Home to Sheffield Wednesday in the relegation season, 2-1 down, last seconds of injury time, Sammy Koejoe rises like a salmon to thump home an equalising header, the Loft goes ballistic, only for the linesman to confirm what we all knew deep down, Koejoe, just as with the rest of his career, had been 3 yards offside...

No, we want them to spiral into the lower leagues. We need to build up the fan base even more to grow further as a club and that usually happens when you are successful and your neighbours are not. There is no charity in football, it's a ruthless business.

For the umpteenth time - because this is tedious - when we were averaging just under 4k during our worst ever period, you were averaging 13.5k despite having one of your best ever sides and big away supports (Man United tend to bring more than Hartlepool). Pretty much everyone was getting sh it gates in the 80's and early/mid 90's. The season before Al Fayed turned up, we averaged 6.6k and had two gates over 10k in the 4th division after thirty years of almost uninterrupted decline. Not huge, but not the way some of you paint things either. When you admittedly good support during your largely successful spell in the third tier, you did so at a time when gates were hugely up almost across the board. Three years in the 3rd when you won most home games and got to the play-off final one year, and then won the league, doesn't compare with the sh it we endured during English football's darkest days.

I daresay we will lose the vast bulk of the casual supporters this season - maybe not all of them if we have a good season and play some decent stuff; it's still a nice place to watch a game with very little bother after all. If Fernandes manages to build you a 40,000 stadium, I do hope you learn to embrace the 20,000 non-QPR-supporting punters that Fernandes will be looking to flog tickets to every week. Especially the PL-curious ones from Holland Park who turn up in red trousers.

Modfather:

Last year you got 15,725 against Millwall late in the season when going for promotion. Of that, 1,7000 were Millwall, 14,000 QPR. We got 18,988 against them when a lot of people are on holiday, and of that somewhere between 4,500-5,000 (absolute tops) were Millwall, meaning there were something like 14,000 Fulham in — i.e. the same number as you had at home v them last season. Half of my lot were at weddings (me), on holiday or watching/playing cricket, and I think there must have been something like 1,000+ season tickets not used on Saturday, as the ticket office were reporting over 20,000 tickets sold including season tickets.

I don’t know anyone who’s expecting us to sell-out this season, and as I’ve said numerous times, we probably have a hardcore support of about 15-16,000 these days, who I would expect to turn-up regardless of form or opposition. The fact that a lot of us have big reservations about Magath, we’re playing a team full of kids, and McCormack aside, have spent nothing, means that everyone I know is expecting a bit of a slog this season; hopefully the two opening defeats will have focused the relevant minds on the urgent need to add some experience and physical strength to the side.

I’m not going to flap after two games, though; 44 games left to get things right and hopefully we’ll see some movement on the transfer front between now and the end of August. In terms of disappearing into the abyss, I’d have thought there was as much chance of that happening to Rangers as Fulham; we have no debt, a massively reduced wage bill, owner worth $2bn, ground redevelopment going ahead to take us up to 30,000 (permission granted, tenders out, contracts being signed), successful academy, top notch training ground etc, so theoretically not in the worst position, whereas Rangers have a ground that holds under 19,000, no training ground, debts of £170m+, a potentially huge FFP penalty on the horizon…

Millwall had at least 5,000 they'd bought up loads in the neutral bit way before Fulham cottoned on and put restrictions on plus (Busy cnt alert on !) when we played them at home last year they only got 1,270. So technically we did have more - not that it really matters at this stage.

Same with Fulham losing these first two games, funny but meaningless at this point. I think Fulham will probably do OK.

I'm not saying Loftus Road is the ultimate hotbed of hate and passion but interesting to see what Millwall fans thought of Fulham lol

Been here before a few times!

The Putney end can’t hear the Hammersmith end and vice-versa. When we beat you 6-0, we barely heard you at all, but you obviously made a lot of noise. It’s the acoustics. The Riverside stand next to the away section is generally our most expensive/quietest stand. Every week, some away fans seem disappointed that it’s not full of gobby t wats spending the whole game giving it large and offering away fans out rather than watching the game.

I was at a wedding on Saturday, but everything I’ve seen suggested Millwall had a good day out and appreciated being able to mix with Fulham in all the pubs, on the walk to/from the ground. No problems at all with them from what I’ve heard. They had a 4,000 allocation and whilst a lot obviously had tickets outside the away blocks, it didn’t look like more than 1,000 tops to me — the club took them off general sale a few weeks ago.

Don't rise to it, plenty of ignorance going on here.

I think I can nail this argument once and for all. Yesterday, I saw a bloke in a pub in Farnham with a QPR T-shirt on. I have just spotted a lady in Waitrose Hersham with a QPR T-shirt on (I popped in to get some lemon infused olive oil for my pasta). On this basis, combined with the fact that I have not seen a single other football related shirt in the past day or so), I would have to conclude that Rangers are by far the biggest club. I appreciate that my research is not particularly scientific, but it is compelling.

Expect Tony Fernandes to make a bid for Wembley stadium anytime soon, whilst Fulham go for a ground share with Kingstonian.

Probably.

A QPR fan in Waitrose?! Actually, TWO QPR fans in Waitrose! Were you lost? I thought it was only Fulham who shopped at Waitrose?

Other than that bombshell, I’d say your evidence is beyond compelling; you’ve clearly moved beyond massive and are now footballing mega behemoths.

Who honestly gives a fck over who has more supporters in corresponding matches - utterly childish wok. I care that we fill our ground and it's great for the team and all involvedif our away support is good too but I honestly don't give a sh1t over who's got more.

And for those who get off on gloating at Fulham's start to the season, might want to do it from the safety of mid-table in premier league and not on the back of a defeat, no goals and no points albeit only after one game.

Rant over.

Talking of food - I can confirm that Fulham have some 'working class' credentials: last time we played you in that evening game at The Cottage I endured the worst burger I have ever had the displeasure of consuming (I must have been hungry).

Not a smoked salmon sandwich or crayfish tail in sight.

I bought the burger in the park, btw, walking alongside the river. I haven't gone near one since.
