Currently watching ''The Walking dead'' a bit gory but worth watching. Banshee is a must watch too. Loads of sex and violence, nice. 24, Sopranos, Breaking Bad are also must see series.

Naturally The Sopranos best ever, followed by The Wire.

Am i the only one who got really annoyed with True Detective?
not going to give any spoilers or anything, but after half a dozen absolutely amazing slow-building, psychologically driven episodes, the last episode turned into a glorified version of 24 with action and shooting a plenty. i just got the feeling that they didn't know how to end it.
Can we not knock it?

You're not alone. I actually thought the ending (well, at least the last 30 mins) was disappointing but the build-up from the previous episodes is absolutely brilliant and makes up for it.
Vince Vaughn and Colin Farrell will be the main characters in season 2 I believe...it will be interesting to see how that turns out.

When I want something quick and light hearted I watch the Modern Family episodes I have downloaded, only 25mins each. It's American sitcom stuff but don't let that put you off, it's really good.

Comedy rather than drama, but It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia is the funniest sitcom I've ever watched, regularly reduces me to tears.
5 complete sociopaths own the worst bar in Philadelphia and spend their lives trying to screw each other over. It's sensational, and each episode is 22 mins long so you can blitz it

Concur with others on the Wire. Seasons 3 and 4 are the absolute peak.
Others worth watching:
- Breaking Bad - The Bridge (remade in English as The Tunnel which is also good but only up to one series versus the two Bridge series made so far. Note: storylines are essentially the same so only need watch one) - Salamander - House of Cards (the 1990s original, not seen the new American one). Probably the best series ever made.
Blacklist is a bit OTT but fun and easy to follow.
First couple of Homeland series were v good.
If you're looking for comedy: - Parks and Recreation is a must - Veep is worth watching

I'm always pissing off my family whilst watching films or other series. 'He was in the Wire.' He was in The Wire .He was in The Wire.' They think I'm bullshiting but I'm not .They pop up everywhere. Especially in Walking dead lately.
