I remember seeing a programme on TV a few years back on this rather morbid subject. It had something to do with Victorians attitude to death. They were fascinated by it. I remember as a kid a great aunt who was born the in the early 1880's prattling on about it at every given opportunity, scaring the living daylights out of this young kid,me, a product of the swinging 1960's. She had a cadaverous face I seem to recall. What a creepy lot indeed. |  |
