I'm feeling strangely confident today.Toon have got major injury problems, the only problem R's seem to have is who to pick from a full(ish)squad.Despite this R's are perceived to be massive underdogs...
http://www.chroniclelive.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/newcastle-united-bet
...I think we can do a number on them.
1-2 R's.

I would not be too upset if Bobby came on as an impact sub late on. it is a big wide pitch and i think we need the energy there if we are going to effectively press them.

I would play Vargas up front with Austin or tell him and Hoilet to run at there back four. I was there to see Barkley do it to them, and Stevie Taylor and Colocini looked very slow when they were exposed.

Isla Caulker Dunne YSY
Fer Sandro Henry Hoilet

Taylor and Coloccini may not play, they're down to four fit defenders one of which has come back off loan.

I would have Vargas on right instead of Fer, then half time move him forward for Zamora, put Hoilet on right and bring Fer on more central.

3-2 QPR.

We need to go in with the attitude we can get something out of the game, if we approach it like we did at spurs and man utd then it'll be a home banker.

I've really liked seeing Bobby on from the start. He is such a useful out ball which could be essential during the pressure we should be put under. Defensive punts end up looking like passes with him on the end.

We deserve a win after the last 2 games but of course you don't deserve anything in football.

2-2

It's got to be Yarg

Today defines part of our fate.

Something from today and a positive performance and we start a good run.

A defeat and it would appear the gremlins could return.

We have to take the game to Newcastle today. Nothing else will do.

Never knowingly right.

"big wide pitch"? Are you sure? It used to have the smallest dimensions in the Pl,unlike little Loftus Road, which was bigger.

I haven't checked this seasons dimensions but the size of the stadium is not the same as the pitch size.

Isla and Vargas still recovering from international duty? Vargas can be a good impact sub anyway. Their defense is definitely for the taking.

Although I perhaps should have checked if Vargas was actually on the bench....

Vargas had a baby apparently...not travelled.

Isla maybe given a rest...can bring him on I guess if need to go more attacking. Seem to be starting with a solid team, with all the pace on the bench.. although striker options are limited.

COME ON YOU R's

Fair play and congrats to him but not having Vargas is probably the worst thing that could have happened today - I'd even rather have lost Charlie. Away from home against a side in a good run of form he's exactly the man we needed making a nuisance of himself on the break. Without Isla as well we are seriously lacking for movement.

On the plus side though Barton on the right crossing in to BZ & CA could mean profit.

I'm always interested in how commentators bang on about how small our pitch is. It is relatively small but I think how close the crowd is makes a big difference. Newcastle only 1 yard wider. I think these are reasonably up-to-date:

QPR: Pitch Size: 112 x 72 yards

1. Manchester City, City of Manchester Stadium, 116 x 77 yards, 8932
2. Manchester United, Old Trafford, 116 x 76 yards, 8816
3. Southampton, St Mary’s Stadium, 115 x 74.5, 8740
4. Stoke City, Britannia Stadium, 115 x 75 yards, 8625
5. Aston Villa, Villa Park, 114 x 75 yards, 8550
6. Swansea, Liberty Stadium, 115 x 74 yards, 8510
7. Arsenal, Emirates Stadium, 114 x 74 yards, 8436
8. Cardiff City, Cardiff City Stadium, 114 x 74 yards, 8436
9. Norwich, Carrow Road, 114 x 74 yards, 8436
10. Sunderland, Stadium of Light, 114 x 74 yards, 8436
11. West Bromwich, The Hawthorns, 114 x 74 yards, 8436
12. Chelsea, Stamford Bridge, 110 x 75 yards, 8250
13. Fulham, Craven Cottage, 110 x 75 yards, 8250
14. Liverpool, Anfield, 110 x 75 yards, 8250
15. Everton, Goodison Park, 109 x 74 yards, 8066
16. Hull City, KC Stadium, 109 x 74 yards, 8066
17. Newcastle United, St. James’s Park, 110 x 73 yards, 8030
18. Tottenham Hotspur, White Hart Lane, 110 x 73 yards, 8030
19. Crystal Palace, Selhurst Park, 109 x 72 yards, 7848
20. West Ham United, Boleyn Ground, 110 x 70 yards, 7700
