Charity appeal (non QPR) 23:02 - Mar 1 with 2470 views | karl | There might be one person on here who would like to donate a fiver to this lovely womans fund, if so that would be great and this thread can slip down the pages. This Dnipro charity is one of the great things about Hibs support and the funds they continually raise from what could be described as a dip into European football is touching and to hear of Ira's plight is very sad, makes my gripes and moans look stupid. The following is from a Hibs supporters website (Hibs.net) hopefully i have got it right. Dnipro Appeal - Sad News This is the hardest update that I have ever had to put together. Last month I was informed by Ira that she has been diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. The outlook is not very good and the doctors have suggested that she may only have a few months left. This is especially difficult to take for us involved with Dnipro Kids as Ira has been a part of Dnipro Kids since our very first visit in 2005, where she acted as translator during the handing over of gifts to the children at the TB Sanatorium. Since that day she has been an integral part of the charity, and the organiser for so many events and tasks in Dnipropetrovsk. She has been a tower of strength for us, and often had to stand up to the red-tape and bureaucracy to ensure nothing got in the way of organising trips and events for the kids. It has been down to Ira that our sponsored kids have had so many enjoyable excursions and birthday trips over the years. Ira has been at the heart of the planning and organisation of the many trips and birthday events that have been organised, right down to the shopping required to ensure that each child received the exact birthday gift that they wanted. In 2009 we brought Ira over to Scotland, where she spent a week touring the country and visiting sponsors. She even managed a visit to Easter Road stadium, where she received a cheque for the charity following a turnstile collection. Fundraising For Ira A number of supporters that have said they would like to donate directly to Ira's needs in her final weeks. In response to these requests I have set up a Fundraising Page on the Just Giving website. | I know almost nothing about the Premier League even though I try to catch the big games every now and then at the end of the season. But I will say this, Queens Park Rangers is just a fukking sick ass team name. Just sounds so cool. |

Charity appeal (non QPR) on 13:29 - Mar 4 with 2228 views | karl | From @hfcsupporters #QPR & #Hibs fans dig deep for, Ira x. #thankyou @DniproKids @hibsnet @ihibs @HibsOfficial @edinburghpaper. #GGTTH https://t.co/DKfcnaoVeh Not sure how to copy twitter on here but certainly very appreciated the help from those on this site. As the organiser Stevie Carr has said it will likely give great comfort to Ira that people 'from London' find her story so worthwhile. If someone could re tweet it (Clive, QPR Report?) would be very grateful, I don't think my 2 followers would have missed it anyway! [Post edited 4 Mar 2015 13:35]

Charity appeal (non QPR) on 16:59 - Mar 4 with 2119 views | pomanjou | Bit concerned that my £67.67 which would have taken the amount raised to exactly £3,000 at the time does not appear. How long do these things take ? Did it about 3 hours ago....................

Charity appeal (non QPR) on 17:47 - Mar 4 with 2079 views | karl | Been asked by Stevie Carr to pass on this message; e: QPR/Ira Can you pass this on to the QPR lads ... Just to say that today the Just Giving page reached its target of £3,000 Hopefully we'll still see some more donations coming in, but to put some perspective on this amazing achievement ... That figure equates to over 100,000 grievna (at the current rate of 35grn/1GBP) and based on the average monthly wage in Ukraine that equates to nearly 3 years wages for her. The ideal scenario would obviously be that we have Ira with us for the next few years, but with that looking unlikely it certainly takes away the worry of how she would cope financially in the coming months. A huge thank you to everyone that has donated, and I will pass on all the kind words when I go to visit her in a couple of weeks time.
