Anyone else watching this drivel?

Losing the will to live.

I know almost nothing about the Premier League even though I try to catch the big games every now and then at the end of the season. But I will say this, Queens Park Rangers is just a fukking sick ass team name. Just sounds so cool.

I'm surprised you have a will to live after watching QPR this year.

To be fair, voting in this election will be like saying which STD you'd prefer.

I can't stand Milliband but Paxman was well out of order towards the end; personal and spiteful. Ironically, it might work in his favour. He was appalling but might get some sympathy.

Thought Paxman got it wrong with Miliband at the end. If he wanted to attack his personality then there is no better person to do that than the bloke himself. Should have concerntrated more on the total lack of clarity about Labour's spending plans.

Cameron, Milliband and Paxman.

Three disgusting faceless skunks all under one roof, no I didn't watch it.

Apologies to any skunks reading this, probably wrong of me to group you skunks with those 3 turds.

My Father had a profound influence on me, he was a lunatic.

I like Ed and he has my vote. He is clearly very bright, and he seems to have faced up to the most significant mistakes made by the last Labour government. I thought he answered several questions with refreshing honesty, and made Paxman (whom I generally like too) look a bit shallow. It is easy to slag off politicians, but unless we want to return to the divine right of Kings and Queens, someone has to do the job, and ours are generally not bad at all compared to the rest of the world. The questions from the audience were pretty lame though- far less hard-hitting than an average episode of Question Time. The BBC still seem better than anyone else at this sort of thing.

Have QPR fans been laying into the wrong Centre Midfielder all along?

Can someone tell Karl that he wouldn't be doing so well for himself if.....
People weren't paying to watch live football
People weren't paying subscriptions to watch football
Stewards, police, medics, groundsmen, cameramen etc weren't working in and and around the grounds he kicks a ball in.

Can someone also tell him that if these people are struggling to pay all their bills, buy a home, or get a doctors appointment, then maybe their appetite for paying into the sport that helps him do so well for himself may dry up.

Despite being a footballer of limited skill working in a team sport, we all understand that without water carriers like him doing the donkey work, the goals Charlie Austin et al score wouldn't happen or matter.

But he feels hard done by because labour want the obscenely well off to pay their fare share in tax.

Pretty sure he was sat about 6 Yards away from me at Palace with his kid(s)

Fair play to him but I surmise he does not struggle to pay for tickets.

It's scandalous Cameron was allowed to chicken out of proper 3 way TV debates.

That being said I wouldn't have bothered watching anyway. They are all a waste of space.

I wont be voting UKIP but why should they be excluded when they are polling double the Lib Dems and have a large no of MEPs ?

I thought it was a bit boring, they should have gone head to head. Or with flintlocks like gentlemen.

Ed came across as more human than usual, he's had tuition on speaking. Cameron used the experience he's gained as PM.

I still don't particularly care for either.

Oh dear, someone is offended. Maybe Karl Henry does work bloody hard, does pay his taxes and does have the right of freedom of speech to say what he feels and doesn't need to be barrated in such a way by someone who feels differently. I also earn very well thank you but I also do 60-70 hour weeks and pay my fair share of taxes and am happy for them to be used in the way that it helps those who are really disadvantaged. Milibands Labour of today will be no different to the labour of Wilson/Callaghan and the Labour of Blair/Brown. Spending money they do not have and leaving the country in a dire situation. Forget what mess the banks added to the situation towards the end of the last Labour administration, investigated Brown's spending from 2000 onwards as a percentage of national income. Both times, Tory governments have come in and start to clear up an unsavoury mess and have had to make unpopular decisions. Socialism is a total fraud. If Miliband wants a redistribution of wealth then he should start at home and give away his own personal fortune and live in a meagre way as does Dennis Skinner. But he won't and when he leaves politics he will sell his memoirs and get some consultancy role and charge for public speaking like his predecessors.

Slightly regretted positing my original post as I just want to read and write about QPR on here to be honest. And I have no problem with people saying where they would like their taxes to be spent. Was just a bit irked that he seemed to be complaining about potential levels of tax rather than acknowledging that he is lucky to be in a position to pay so much tax in the first place.

Fair enough. Regardless of my political views I am actually pleased to see QPR players / footballers hold an opinion about things. I don't want it pushed down my throat but then I have the freedom to choose whether or not I follow them on Twitter or not. In 140 characters it's not always possible to prefix every statement with "I'm a very well paid footballer and am grateful for my ability to earn good money..."

Contrast this with Barton who, in reference to the Leaders questions event made a very amusing remark about wishing it was a battle to the death. Generic "I hate all politicians", "they're all the same" statements are so 2005.

Why do you regret it ??

I know it is a Rangers site but there is no game this weekend . Nothing has changed , we havnt signed anyone , no one is sacked and we are still in the sh*t.

I really enjoy the non QPR threads . I would rather debate other things with Rangers fans than some random knob on a political site .

We have crossed the line occasionally but by and large its friendly .

The 7 way debate will be a waste of time. As I understood it the original proposal top 3 based on number of MP's. I think there is a good argument for other parties being involvded in a series of 3 or 4 way debates with the government. Especially as we have 2 parties in power right now. However Cameron even bottled facing Wet Ed so there is no way he'd have agreed to go toe to toe with UKIP. Far too much to lose.

Yep. He got absolutely trounced by Nick Clegg in the 2005 debates ('I agree with Nick...') and it generated so much momentum for the Lib Dems that it probably cost the Conservatives a majority. Nigel Farage is an accomplished orator who will not be intimidated by the occasion and has already shown that Nick Clegg is nothing to be feared in debate. If they do come on heavy with him, it effectively makes his point that the Westminster elite is ganging up on the working man and anyone that represents them.

The show last night was a bit of a let down, frankly. Bring on the actual debates - they should be much more interesting. In the interests of balance, other parties are available.

And my mate has joined the Green Party and is standing in the local council elections. He doesn't really want the job he just thinks they should be represented in order to raise profile. Silly sod - we're all going to vote for him just to see him panic on election night. Hahahahahaha.

It might be a job to tell him that with the limited characters you are allowed on Twitter.
I can't see why he is not entitled to an opinion even if you don't agree with it. Makes a change from a footballer to have one on politics.
